What is crowdfunding?

Today we are launching a crowdfunding campaign with Ulule to raise the funds needed to develop the Go Zero Waste App .

A crowdfunding campaign is a financing tool that could allow us to obtain the necessary funds to develop the first version of the app.

Through the crowdfunding platform Ulule, we explained the idea in an open and transparent way, and backers (users who help us) make a donation and receive a reward for it.
Over time, we analyzed the different platforms and interviewed:
Goteo : an open network for crowdfunding, collaborations, and training. We really liked it because most of their projects are social innovation projects.
Verkami : since 2010, they have supported more than 11,592 projects through 1.6 million backers
. Ulule : an international platform that was selected because it allowed us to create a more innovative campaign design and supported us throughout the process despite not having a community behind it.

El crowdfunding no se trata de recoger dinero. Se trata de hacer algo realidad con una multitud de gente que cree en algo. Gente normal, no gente millonaria con mucho poder. Solo gente como tú y yo

Why a crowdfunding campaign?

We believe the app can help many people discover what  zero waste is  and be a very useful digital tool for users, establishments, and any type of business that wants to promote the  circular economy. It’s a   non-profit

project . We want to develop the app and platform as our way of promoting a zero-waste world by offering a tool that helps solve the problem at its root: the way we shop, which restaurants we go to, what events we attend, a transversal way of living that takes into account the waste generated by each of our actions.

Unfortunately,  we don’t have the €10,000 needed to develop the app . That’s why we thought crowdfunding would allow us to explain the idea to our closest friends and family, as well as to anyone interested in making such a digital tool a reality.

We would love for companies in the sector or those with an ecological conscience to see the project as a very good idea and to sponsor us, either materially or financially.

We’ve created a video explaining why we’re running a crowdfunding campaign:

What rewards do we offer?

We have selected several rewards that have the same values as the project we have in mind:

A Le Parfait jar to buy in bulk and store food safely.
An eco-friendly cloth bag with the slogan “Fuck Plastic” that we bought from the Yes Future
store . A beer and wine tasting at a bulk drinks store called El Celler de la Ribera
. A basket of bulk products (fruit, grains, legumes, pasta, beer, and wine).
Dinner for 4 with the project team.

All funds will be spent on developing the first version of the app, purchasing rewards, and paying platform fees.

Who's behind it?

We started with just two people and now we’re more than 10. We’ve received emails, calls, and WhatsApp messages from people who’ve seen the idea and want to participate. We love joining forces for the non-profit cause, just for the simple fact of participating in a project you believe in and want to collaborate on!

Will you help us achieve it?  Access the campaign here .
