What was done?

In this sustainable teambuilding  activity, we focused on collecting waste in a 100m x 30m area of the beach. To successfully carry out the activity, we followed these steps:

1.- Explain the problem of waste that reaches nature.

2.- Give each person a bag and gloves so they can pick up without fear of cutting or getting their hands  dirty .

3.- Divide the group into small teams of 2-3 people so that each one is in charge of a different type of waste

4.- Then count each residue to be able to carry out a citizen science activity

5.- Once all the waste has been separated, we put it in the different recycling containers that were nearby for subsequent treatment (where possible).

Why a waste collection on the beach?

Collecting waste on the beach is very appropriate for the following reasons:
✅ Protection of Marine Ecosystems : The plastics and other waste we find can cause serious harm to marine wildlife. Many animals, such as fish and birds, mistake waste for food and can die from poisoning.
✅ Prevention of Water Pollution : Waste can release toxic substances into the water, impacting both marine ecosystems and human health.

✅ Awareness and change of habits : Beach waste collection raises awareness about the impact of our consumption and waste management. We realize how poorly things are being done and what actions we can take to help improve our natural environment.

✅ Promotes teamwork: Participants must work together to collect different types of waste and support each other to achieve a common goal. This strengthens communication and a sense of unity.

✅ Reinforces corporate values: Linking the team to sustainable causes demonstrates the company’s commitment to the environment, strengthening its corporate culture and reputation.
