Lanzamos '¡Muévete por el cero!'

We launched ‘Moving Towards Zero!’

After months of ideation and development during a pandemic, the Go Zero Waste team is proud to present Move for Zero! (Mou-te pel zero! in Catalan and Moving Towards Zero in English).

The problem: sustainability is a concept that can sometimes be difficult to understand and apply. Many people lack clear information about what actions can be taken, it’s difficult to measure the impact, and it often involves changing consumption habits.
With Move for Zero, we want to pave the way toward zero waste and the circular economy.

This is a new campaign created in collaboration with city councils and other local organizations with the aim of promoting waste reduction and local commerce among the residents of a specific town or region through inclusive gamification.

The origin

Much more than the evolution of the app’s challenges section

Since our beginnings, we have believed in the potential of the  Go Zero Waste app  ‘s  challenges section  as a tool to  take action.

We wanted to grow it in line with our values and mission: working locally, forging collaborations, and encouraging  small steps  in a personalized and engaging way.

For this reason, and inspired by the Duolingo app, we developed a series of  customizable challenges   that were adaptable to a specific environment and could offer an improved experience compared to the generic challenges we had up until version 1.2.2. With  Move for Zero,  we created a campaign that promotes sustainability through gamification and collaboration between local businesses, public administrations, and the public.

How does it work?

With  Move for Zero!,   we’ve created a private space within the app where  city councils ,  businesses ,  and other  organizations  can create their own personalized challenges and launch them to  a specific group of people:  residents of a town, members of a company, or residents and visitors of a specific region.

In addition to the digital component, we have designed an  inclusive  campaign in which everyone can participate through the various actions we propose:

Types of shares

It’s easy to leave a conference piled high with brochures, leaflets, promotional bags, pens, notebooks, etc. Often, the information in the brochures is on the company’s website or in the corporate presentation the person who helped you might have sent you. What actions can we take?

Environmental education activities

In each campaign, we offer activities such as cooking workshops that use food to make the most of it,  outdoor waste collection trips , secondhand product swap meets, and many more options!

📱

Digital through the App

People download the Go Zero Waste app completely free of charge. It’s available globally in Catalan, Spanish, and English. They register and can then access the public or private campaign in which they wish to participate.

🏆

Analogue through booklets

Those who don’t want to use the app can request booklets with all the challenges. As they complete the challenges, participating establishments will stamp the booklet, and they’ll also be eligible to participate in the prizes.

Types of awards

It’s important to understand that participating in campaigns has an immediate benefit for the environment as we help reduce waste.

In addition to this prize, we would also like to award the following prizes to the people participating in the campaign:

€50 gift cards

Spend at local businesses that promote zero waste and the circular economy.

Zero waste product packs

To continue reducing waste beyond the campaign

Tickets for leisure, culture and sport

Promoting sustainability while promoting other equally important areas of the planet.
