Hi!
We are Magda and Martí
We founded Go Zero Waste to promote direct actions related to sustainability , the circular economy , and zero waste .
Implementing these actions in a fun and gamified way allows us to reduce the barrier to entry for beginners.
The creation of new, more sustainable habits is encouraged through the gradual incorporation and repetition of these good practices.
That’s why we created the Circular Gymkhana project , which generates a big impact in a short time: a themed weekend of sustainability, a great atmosphere, and lots of prizes!
What is a circular gymkhana?
A fun adventure that promotes sustainability
We organized an educational experience through play, creativity, and practical action.
Concentrated into a weekend
We are planning actions that begin on Friday, continue on Saturday, and end on Sunday afternoon
With prizes for the participants
We give away €50 gift cards to spend in the shops of the town where the scavenger hunt is taking place.
Why is it important to organize a treasure hunt that promotes sustainability?
Promote experience-based learning
The playful and practical experiences allow participants to “feel” and “do” sustainability.
To inspire long-term behavioral change
We highlight the range of products and services offered by the population
Personal and community empowerment
By participating in the activities we organize, participants see that they can be part of the solution and not the problem.
What are our goals?
SDG 11 | Cities and
sustainable communities
Integrating circularity into the local environment
Promote good practices among the population in a local environment.
SDG 12 | Production and
responsible consumption
Promote waste reduction
Reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling.
SDG 13 | Climate Action
Reduce GHG emissions from consumption
Raising awareness about which actions directly impact the reduction of emissions.
How does the circular gymkhana work?
Selection of activities
In collaboration with the city council or the sponsor, we choose which activities we will carry out.
Identifying key partners
We connect with strategic partners to turn them into ambassadors for the scavenger hunt
Communication design
We create the necessary communication materials both online and offline
Let's get the scavenger hunt started!
The circular adventure begins with the first environmental education activities.
Monitoring and challenges
Once the activities are finished, we present the challenges we have devised.
Closing ceremony and awards presentation
We are raffling off €50 gift cards to spend in local businesses

Where do we hold our circular gymkhanas?
Villages
- We take advantage of the town’s iconic locations to organize the activities.
- We integrate local history and town personalities into the activities.
Cities
- We organize themed routes in which each stop is a different environmental education activity.
- We create challenges related to businesses that promote the circular economy.
Commonwealth
- We organize a test in each town and thus promote inter-municipal cooperation.
- It helps a lot to give visibility to each location
Testimonios
Why implement circular obstacle courses?
Transforming abstract concepts into experiential learning
Sustainability tends to be theoretical; a scavenger hunt turns those concepts into concrete actions, which increases understanding and retention of the message.
Promote sustainable habits through practice
Recycling, water conservation, responsible consumption, and green mobility are integrated as behaviors, not just ideas. Repeating these practices in trials makes it easier for them to be maintained in daily life.
They involve different ages and groups
These scavenger hunts allow children, families, youth and adults to participate together, achieving intergenerational environmental education and greater community impact.
They give visibility to real resources and problems in the territory.
They serve to showcase natural areas with waste problems, local businesses, or good practices that can be implemented, strengthening local awareness and a sense of shared responsibility.
They reinforce the institutional commitment to the 2030 Agenda
They help to communicate in an attractive way that the municipality or association is working on climate goals.
They promote citizen participation in environmental issues
Sustainability does not advance solely through information campaigns; these activities generate motivation, belonging, and collaboration, which are key to lasting changes in the community.
