The Explorins team creates meaningful cultural projects that positively impact people’s lives by using new technologies for good.
In this collaboration, the Go Zero Waste team created a route within the Explorins app to shop without generating waste. The community was invited to participate in this route and discover the different options offered by Barcelona’s Gracia neighborhood.

Take action
On the route we also discussed actions that we can take in our daily lives.
Is it possible to shop without generating waste?
The answer is yes, and we prove it through our Zero Waste Tours.
This time, we took a walking tour of several bulk and zero-waste stores in the Gracia neighborhood and ended the tour with a snack at a local winery.
What is the Zero Waste Route through the Gràcia neighborhood?
A tour of a total of 5 bulk stores and other shops where you can find plastic-free products in what we call the “Golden Square of Zero Waste in Gràcia.”
Sharing impressions of the places and products we found
. Enjoying a free beer with an aperitif at the end of the route
. Making a final assessment of the experience and to what extent we can change our daily consumption habits to generate less waste.

Preparation before starting the route
1.- Create a list of products you need
2.- Bring your reusable bags and Tupperware so you don’t generate any waste
3.- Bring your phone fully charged to follow the route and take photos.
More consumption options
At the Go Zero Waste App and eXplorins, we want to demonstrate that another type of consumption is possible: local and waste-free. And not only that, we want to make it easier.
Our consumer choices can transform the world at the local level, and this route is an example of that.
This activity is part of European Waste Prevention Week, an initiative that runs from November 16th to 24th. Its objective is to promote and implement awareness-raising actions on sustainable resources and waste management for a week. Are you coming?
Remember we are #zerowastemovement! 😀
What if I'm in another city?
No problem! If you can’t make it that day or if spots are sold out, you can do the route at your own pace and whenever you want. It’s available on the eXplorins website so you can do it with your mobile phone by clicking here.
And if you’d like us to create a similar route in another neighborhood or city, contact us, and maybe we can organize it together. We want to replicate this initiative elsewhere to make it easier to shop zero-waste and locally.
