What was done?
In this activity we learned how to design an urban garden for limited spaces.
· We reflected on the importance of eating seasonal and local food.
· We learned about the basics of urban gardening
. · We introduced the basic concepts of planting and the importance of seeds as a source of life.
We designed an urban garden using the square-foot gardening method, designed to maximize growing in limited spaces.
We planted seeds and seasonal seedlings in pots for further cultivation.
In addition, each participant was able to take home a potted tomato plant to apply what they learned and connect with what they eat.
Many thanks to Amadeus for their trust, to Cink Coworking for the space, and to Alba and Adela for their green lesson!

Why a sustainable urban garden team building?
✅ At the level of environmental education , being able to learn how nature works, the plant cycle, and the importance of caring for the environment. It’s a practical and direct way to foster ecological awareness.
✅ Promote sustainable eating: By growing our own food, we become more conscious of what we eat, appreciate fresh produce more, and have a more natural diet, free of pesticides and processed foods.
✅ Sustainability and waste reduction: Urban gardens help reduce the carbon footprint associated with food transportation and allow us to reuse organic waste as compost. Additionally, we avoid buying fruits or vegetables packaged in single-use plastics, thus reducing the waste we generate at home.
✅ Physical and mental well-being: Urban gardening is therapeutic: it reduces stress, improves mood, and encourages physical activity. Plus, working with your hands in contact with the earth has a very positive effect on mental health.
✅ Urban land use : We help transform unused spaces (rooftops, balconies, patios, or vacant lots) into productive, green, and enjoyable spaces , improving the quality of the urban environment.
