The beginnings of the idea
Like you, we grew up thinking that by recycling we were taking care of the planet.
But we were taking stock and, like many, we came to the conclusion that to contribute to a wider change, we had to modify our consumption habits.
Reducing the amount of trash, plastic and waste we generate is just one of them and it is what is currently called leading a “zero waste” life or zero residue
The best waste is that which is not generated
The origin of the idea: to find leche sin tetrabric in our neighborhood
When you start getting into this world of zero waste, you are substituting little by little all that you buy for alternatives. Very important: little by little and without straining.
The challenge: living without generating waste
That’s how we met the day before the challenge of buying something as everyday as milk, avoiding the typical packaging plastic or the tetrabric.
We had to do a little research and finally came up with an alternative in a crystal and ecological bottle.
Part of the idea behind the Go Zero Waste App emerged from this research: facilitate the discovery of alternatives near you.
Think globally, act locally: from the neighborhood to the world.
This is how we set out to drastically reduce the waste we generate on a daily basis
The final step was when we decided to go out and do the shopping for the week in the Barcelona neighborhood of Gracia and return home without any plastic. This was the result:
An imperfect path, will you join us?
Living without consuming plastic or generating waste is not achieved overnight. Even so, it’s easier than you think.
The Zero Waste life is purely a question of habits: one day you carry the cloth bag in your bag, another day you ask for coffee to be served in your reusable cup… and so, little by little, you change small gestures that can make a difference on a global level.
And never think that your actions are worthless: every plastic bottle you don’t consume is one less bottle that can stay hundreds of years in nature.

- Facilitate the location of alternatives to packaged products near you, promoting local commerce and responsible consumption.
- Connect people and initiatives that work in the same line, from Instagrammers to committed companies and administrations.
We need you
We have the passion, the illusion, the desire and the talent to do it.
But we need a push to be able to develop the first version of the app, which will be available for free for iOS and Android.
