The creative agency Dragons Group identified the need to improve waste separation in its offices as part of the ISO14001 certification process.
Go Zero Waste conducted an on-site assessment to identify challenges and corrective actions and provided training for all employees (in Spanish and English).
Goals
Analyze the current situation
Identification of waste flows and their composition. Analysis of daily operations, layout and design of waste bins and containers.
Identify the main challenges and solutions
Identifying the main challenges in waste generation and separation. Identifying opportunities for reduction, reuse, and improved recycling.
Train and engage employees
Training in Spanish and English based on the analysis and corrective actions detected applicable to the work and home environment
What was done?
On-site waste audit
Go Zero Waste conducted a technical visit to the facilities to review and document the following aspects in depth:
- Identification of waste flows .
- Analysis of generation points (design and arrangement of waste bins and containers).
- Identifying the main errors in waste separation.
- Identifying prevention and reuse opportunities .
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in cost savings and operational efficiency .
- Regulatory compliance .
- Interview with those responsible for daily operations ( Facility Management and cleaning services).
- Preparation of a report with corrective actions and recommendations .
Documentation of one of the recycling stations.
Employee training
Following the audit, two dynamic training sessions with practical examples were conducted to address:
- Raising awareness about waste prevention and the Circular Economy.
- Correct separation of the different fractions, focusing on the most frequent errors.
- Good practices in the office and at home.
- Answering questions and providing space for participation.

Zero Waste Challenge
As a complement to the training, two challenges with rewards were launched for employees to share good practices and involve them in the proposed solutions:
- Gamified challenge with the Go Zero Waste app : we created a personalized challenge to share good zero waste practices at home and at work.
- Design challenge : since it is a creative agency, we launched a second challenge focused on improving the signage of the waste bins based on a brief extracted from the on-site audit.
Results
- Identifying the main challenges in waste generation.
- Proposed corrective actions to reduce waste generation and improve the quality of recycling.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improving daily operations .
- Raising awareness and activating teams to reduce doubts and the most frequent segregation errors.
