Go Zero Waste app: new functionality for reuse

Go Zero Waste app launches a new functionality to make it easier for businesses and establishments to offer reuse services.

We launched new functionality of the app to facilitate the introduction of reuse services in shops and restaurants! With version 1.6 of the app we have worked to make it easier:

  • That businesses offer reusable options
  • Make it easier to buy or consume with reusables
  • Promote the ecosystem of reusable solutions

And Go Zero Waste was born to help overcome the barriers that hinder consumption and a waste-free life. For this reason, we have designed a new functionality designed for the following objectives:

  1. Make it easier for consuming reusable items to stop being a barrier

We have been aware for some time that one of the barriers we encounter as consumers on the path to zero waste is that we forget our reusable bags and containers when we go shopping and end up using single-use paper or plastic bags.

For this reason, version 1.6 of the Go Zero Waste app presents a new functionality that will allow users of the app to borrow a bag, a coffee cup or a reusable container from a store or cafe.
and return it whenever you want

  • Facilitate more establishments to join reuse

At the same time, we have developed an app for people who own shops or restaurants who want to offer these reusable products to their customers. The business platform allows you to easily manage the stock and tracking of borrowed reusables.

The new functionality will allow establishments participating in the service to offer bags, cups, containers or any element that is reusable and that customers who request it can enjoy it for 30 days at no cost.

  • Promote the ecosystem of reusable solutions

The new functionality is designed to be able to incorporate any reuse service, making it easier for different options that already exist on the market to coexist. Some examples of services that may be offered:

  • Reusable coffee cups for coffee shops
  • Reusable bags and containers for food stores
  • Reusable containers for take-away stores
  • Reusable glasses and containers for collective catering canteens

The path of #reuserevolution

Our societies urgently need to adopt solutions based on the circular economy. Recycling has proven to be an insufficient solution to address the growing problem of waste generation. To end the single-use culture, we need facilitating alternatives that allow us to achieve systemic changes in our production and consumption system.

To do this, it is necessary, first of all, to have regulatory frameworks and laws that focus on waste prevention and reuse.

Secondly, the use of smartphones, digitalization and new technologies increasingly allow us to offer solutions that make life easier for businesses and accompany the behavioral changes in consumers necessary for us to keep materials for as long as possible. in circulation, making responsible use of resources.

Go Zero Waste: a path of solutions

This new functionality is part of Go Zero Waste’s strategy to offer solutions towards zero waste.

The new features of version 1.6 thus complement the reusable packaging dispenser prototype that we have been developing for 3 years called Paasiot (Packaging as a Service IoT) and the reusable bag pilots in shops and markets that we have developed in collaboration with Bolseta in the Rebag project.

Go Zero Waste seeks to join alliances to make progress towards zero waste easy, accessible and attractive.

If you want to collaborate with us, do not hesitate to contact us.
