Beach cleaning in Barcelona – Let’s Clean Up Europe
On Saturday, May 11, the most important beach cleanup of the year is celebrated in Barcelona.
This is an awareness activity promoted by more than ten local organizations and companies committed to the environment..
Everyone is invited to help with whatever they can.
At the end of the collection, the waste is classified and there will be workshops and activities.
Why a beach cleanup?
We plan the largest collection ever made in Barcelona to generate a positive impact on society with a message of alert but at the same time of hope.
This joint action is asymbolic way of showing the world that it is possible to change, that it is possible to live without destroying the planet.. By putting our hands on the problem, we will be inspiring thousands of people to join together and be part of the solution.
Program of the day
The day consists of BEACH CLEANING + UNDERWATER CLEANING + SPREADS CLEANING + WORKSHOPS + TALKS
UNDERWATER
10:00- Welcome/Briefing at the Buceo Hispania center.
11:00-13:00 – Underwater cleaning and transfer of the collected waste to the common tarp.
BEACH/SPREADS
10:30 – Welcome/Briefing on Nova Icària beach.
11:00-13:00 – Beach/breakwater cleaning and transfer of the collected waste to the common tarp.
13:00 – Classification and data collection of everything collected
14:00 – Transfer of waste to Plaza del Mar
16:00-20:00 – Sculpture, workshops, market, talks
